Our Vision

238 Ministries is a place where the broken and weary can encounter the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Rooted in the truth of Acts 2:38.

Todd Ferguson (founder of 238 Ministries) preaches the gospel message of repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the promise of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.

At 238 Ministries, our mission is to proclaim the gospel, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, which sets people free and brings new life.

We invite you to join us in worship and fellowship as we grow together in understanding what it truly means to die to self and live in the freedom of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.

Zoom Bible Study

238 Ministries Zoom Bible Studies Saturdays @9:00AM PST

Join us for a powerful time of fellowship and growth in the Word of God as we gather together in one accord just as the early church did in the Book of Acts. This Bible study is focused on discipleship, spiritual edification, and building up the body of Christ as a family. Through prayer, worship, and the study of Scripture, we aim to grow deeper in our walk with the Lord, encouraging one another in truth and love. Come ready to seek God, be equipped for His purpose, and experience unity in the Spirit as we pursue Christ together.

Our Beliefs

Unity

We believe in the power of unity, as the Bible teaches. Acts 2:1 says, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” We see that God moves mightily when His people are united in purpose, prayer, and love.

Unity is essential to the life of the church and the fulfillment of the Great Commission (John 17:20–21, 1 Corinthians 1:10). We are called to be of one mind, one spirit, and one heart, working together for the sake of the gospel (Philippians 2:1–2). In this unity, the power of God is made manifest, and the world sees that we are His disciples (John 13:35).

We reject divisions such as denominations, doctrines of men, strife, and pride, and instead, we pursue the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). This unity is not based on compromise but on the truth of God’s Word and the love of Christ that binds us together (Colossians 3:14).

One God

We believe in one God, without controversy, as the Bible declares. From eternity, God manifested Himself in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16), and our only Lord and Master is Jesus Christ (Jude 1:4–5).

We affirm that there is one God who always was, always is, and always will be (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10–11). He is the omniscient, omnipresent Creator of all things, both visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16).

This one God, who is Spirit, revealed Himself fully in Jesus Christ, who is the express image of His being (Hebrews 1:3).

In Him, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily (Colossians 2:9). We hold fast to this truth: there is no other God beside Him (Isaiah 45:5–6), and Jesus is the name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).

Baptism in Jesus name

We affirm that there is no other name under heaven and earth in which we must be saved but the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Baptism is for the washing away of sins and the born again experience, as taught in John 3:5 and Romans 6:3–4, in the name of Jesus Christ, as commanded by Him in Matthew 28:19. The NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ, as demonstrated by all the apostles in the New Testament. Isaiah 9:6 also confirms this truth for He will be called Wonderful Councilor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Faith

We affirm that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and not by our own works (Ephesians 2:8–9). Yet we also affirm that true faith is never alone, for faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Mere belief alone does not save (James 2:19–20). For even the demons believe and tremble.

We affirm that faith in Jesus Christ involves not only believing in His death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1–4), but also turning from sin and walking in His ways. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Genuine faith must be expressed in action, for we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works (Ephesians 2:10).

We affirm that while our works do not earn salvation, they are the fruit and evidence of a living faith (Matthew 7:21). Thus, salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, but this faith will be proven by a life surrendered to Him in obedience and repentance.

Hope

We affirm the blessed hope of our Lord’s return, as promised throughout the Scriptures (Titus 2:13). We believe that Jesus Christ will come again, just as He said (John 14:3), to gather His people and to judge the living and the dead (Acts 1:11, 2 Timothy 4:1).

We hold fast to this hope, knowing that He will return in power and glory (Matthew 24:30). This hope anchors our souls (Hebrews 6:19) and calls us to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11–12).

We believe that in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, the dead in Christ will rise first and we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). In this, we comfort one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:18), holding firm to the hope that He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

The Body

We affirm that the body of Christ is not a building or a denomination but one body made up of all who have been born again by faith in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12–13). We believe that every believer is a member of this one body, called to unity in faith and purpose (Ephesians 4:4–6).

The book of Acts gives us a clear example of what the first church looked like and how it operated. In Acts 2:42–47, we see believers devoted to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer. They shared everything in common, met in homes, and praised God with gladness and sincerity of heart.

We affirm that the church is a living body, not a man-made structure or tradition. Jesus is the head of this body (Colossians 1:18), and we are called to love one another, serve one another, and live in the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:27, Acts 1:8). This is the true church: a body of believers joined together in Christ, not divided by walls or denominations.
